I chose Revolver because I was looking for a suspenseful book to read and the others either didn't stand out, or were just not what I was looking for. Some of the other books had some wird plots and didn't make any sense and were confusing, just reading the summary. What drew my attention to this novel was how the author started the summary and how he started it saying "An Isolated cabin in the wilderness, 14-year-old Sig is alone with a corpse: his father. I had a personal connection between this book because when I was younger, for me making friends was hard and kind of scary at the time. But then my dad helped along the way and now I have a lot of friends today. I would specifically recommend this book to anyone who likes action, suspense, and love. I would probably recommend this book to maybe someone above the age of 10 and likes shoot em up kind of books. I have to say I think this is now one of my favorite books I have ever read so far. I really hope they come out with a movie for this book. So ya go out to your local book store and get Revolver.

Summer Reading Assignment Post 3-Revolver
"Even the dead tell stories. Sig looked across the cabin to where his father lay, waiting for him to speak, but his father said nothing, because he was dead. Einar Andersson lay on the table, his arms half raised above his head, his legs slightly bent at the knee, frozen in the position in which they'd found him; out on the lake, lying on the ice, with the dogs waiting patiently, in harness. Sig stared and stared, in his own way frozen to the chair, waiting for his father to get up, smile again, and start talking. But he didn't. They say that dead men tell no tales, but they are wrong. Even the dead tell stories."
This excerpt from the beginning of the book is talking about how Sig is alone with his dead father. His father is laying on the table next to Sig, after they brought his dead body in from falling into the frozen lake. Sig had no idea the trouble his father had gotten him and his family into due to his greed. The rest of the book explains the events leading up to his father's death and the consequences of his father's choices. Sig finds himself and his sister fighting for their lives.

Summer Reading Assignment Post 2-Revolver
One of the main characters is Wolff (the antagonist of the book). His main gaol was to find the gold that Einer owed him in a deal they made. He is so desperate to find the gold that he will do anything it takes to get the gold he wants, even murder. Einer and his wife Maria wanted their kids Sig and Anna to live up to their religious standards. They taught their kids about faith, hope, and love. And through out the book Sig and Anna find themselves in rough spots trying to live up to their parents standards. Sig and Anna find themselves trying to survive from Wolff and the dangers he brings.
One theme that has started to appear in the book would be survival because the kids are trying to stay alive. Success and greed are themes because several characters are trying to get rich. Family and love are themes because Sig, Anna, and there mom are trying to keep there family alive.
The author structures the book by flipping back and forth from the past to the present. Sometimes the author uses past events to explain what is going on in the present. I think this is an interesting way to structure the book instead of going in chronological order of events.

Summer Reading Assignment Post 1-Revolver
My reading assignment book I chose to read was Revolver. The major characters in my book are Wolff the antagonist, Einar the father, Maria the mother, Anna the daughter, and last but not least Sig the son and the main character in this thriller novel. The setting takes place in Antarctica, in a town called Giron. The conflict between my characters is very strong with Wolff and Sig. Wolff comes for Sig's dad Enar who fell through ice and died from hypothermia. And since Sig inherited from his father, Sig has what Wolff wants. And Sig has no idea of what Wolff is talking about, which then leads to a lot of preasure build up between them. I have a feeling though that there is going to be a movie about this book because this book got a lot of good reviews. When I was researching books to read, this one popped out the most in how other people commented on it. I am a little confused as to why and how that a book that small and short won a Michael L. Printz Award? Other than it being a smaller and shorter read, I thought it was a good book. Plus it left me every time with suspense when ever I closed the book. I thought that it was cool that the author was actually talking about a real life event that took place in his life.

Krista Ramsey
We just finished watching Krista Ramsey`s speech and i thought it was actually interesting. She discussed about how and what her job is and what she does. She told audience about some of the different situations she had to go and write about all of these different situations. Most of them were about peoples life styles and makes them into articles. One of her quotes were "Acolumnist doesnt have power, they have influence." I think that her job is to really touch people and make them look at life differently.

The Kite Runner
I just started to read The Kite Runner and so far it is a pretty good book actually. Its about a boy named Khaled Hosseini and no its not about him flying a kite the whole time, but it is interesting. His mother died from child birth and his dad is very....settle he isn't mentioned a lot in the book so far, but he talks a lot about his uncle. His uncle is very strong and is very rich. His uncle built a orphanage for the children of his town with his own money.

Seal of God post #9
Chad in the end gets married to Aubrey (his girlfreind) and goes and tells other people about Christ and has quit being a seal as well. I finally finished the Seal of God book today. It is a great book, I suggest anyone to read it. Even if your an athiest, it is still a good book to read. Chad actually came to my church to tell us one of his surmens and he signed my book also. He is a really nice guy, and if you get the book in the back there is a website were you can email him asking to speak at your church, school, and/or event visit.
Krista Ramdey blog
This column is about kids who play with Legos build confidence and creativity. And it gives parents a break from chaos and replace it with order and fun. "Legos let them claim the two things adults don't even realize they need: space and silence." This line describes how Legos give parents a break. She Probably put this line in because she might have had experience. I would ask her if she ever has kids with/had Legos? Or if she has experience with them? And finally I would ask why Legos why not board games because that is a calm activity as well?

Seal of God post #8
Now after being stuck in the Philippines, Chad and his team where deployed to Iraq. While there they were told to not only help the arabis soldiers but fight along side them as well. Chads freind died he was in Iraq at the time. After controlling suvilians for most the time, Chad got his shot. They were informed about a police officer who was a terrist, that might have information. So at night when they had identified the man they set out to arrest him and question him. While driving Chad was manning the .50 cal on top of the humve he was riding in. They were geting close but as they were on the rode they passed some signs that were the same signs that his freind had passed before he had died. When they arived at the house they stoped and waited for the ground team to move up and advance. Right as they were about to reach the front door they were shot at from all sides. Chad moved the .50 cal and mowed down the arabi terrist and took back the house, the ground team continued to advance, and made it inside. While inside Chad heard gun shot and screams of a women. after what seemed like an hour they finally got the man and got out and took him for questioning. The terrist gave them a lot of information. A couple weeks later Chad was able to go home and be with his family and ask his girlfriend to marry her.

Seal of God post #7
Now after being stuck in the Philippines for a long time, Chad got what he wanted. His team was deployed to Iraq for their first real mission. But they are authorized to not kill any terrorists, but to capture them instead. When Chad and his team were eating lunch they heard on the TV about a American ship that was taken by Samudi pirates. They were deployed but were cut off by a sand storm and could not go. So seal team 6 was deployed instead of Chads team.

Seal of God post #6
Now in my book Chad is now becoming a Christian, but there are some flaws. When he tolled his girlfriend and started using biblical speech, she got annoyed and broke up with him and ended their long and loving friendship. And when he went back to the base his seal teams at they hayseed him and beat him up and almost drowned him in the pool. So now in Chads life its going down hill from here. Now he is asking to leave the Navy but he cant, he has to serve two more years still.

Bible Post #3
After the flood stopped, God made a covenant with Noah. "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth." And so God also promised that he would never flood the earth again, so he put a rainbow in the sky to remember his promise to us. Then when Noah died his sons went and made nations, but the nations thought they could reach the heavens by building a tall tower to the sky. But God had different plans he didnt want them to do this because then the people if they all spoke the same then they could accomplish anything. So God did something that changed humanity again, that was very life changing. God confused the people all over the world and made them speak different languages, so they stopped building the tower and started to scatter all over the earth.

Bible Post #2
In the next Bible post my favorite, God sent a great flood, a flood that would kill and destroy everything, and the animals and humans with the breath of life in them, except for one man who found favore with God. The man goes by the name Noah, "he obeyed everything God tolled him to do and did not hardly disobey God. So God warned him of what was about to take place, and he tolled Noah to build an arc. So like always he obeyed and listened to God, and did his extra credit by warning people that the flood was coming, but like always stubern and blind they laughed in his face and ignored his warning. Then whan Noah had finished the boat with God`s help, God had one more task for Noah before the world became like Atlantis. The special task was to board two of every species in the world and keep them alive for after 40 days and 40 nights it will be your family to care for the beasts, birds, and every other animal that I send to you." Now when i read this in the bible i was like "wow, thats a crap load of animals." ha ha, in all seriousness seriously thats a lot of crap. "Well Noah did what he was tolled and after the 40 days and 40 nights God opened the arc and let them all out, and when Noah touched the ground it was dry. Now thats awsome."
Bible post #1
In the begining of my story God was the creater of Earth and every live thing in it. "And he made two important people to start our generation/race. But there was something eles that was among them other than all of the animala, something horrible and rotten. SIN. And when God made Adam and Eve "The keepers of the Garden of Eden" he tolled them to not eat from the tree of eternal life. And there at the time was only one person who could tempt Adam and Eve, and that person was the Devel. He came to Eve in snake form to make her think it was just another animal. He tolled her that the tree would not kill her if she ate from it, but her eyes would be opened and she would think like God. So she trusted the snake and she took a bite and what the serpent said came true, so she gave some to Adam. Then they herd God walking through the woods, so they hid. And when God called out to them Adam said "we hid bc we were naked and we herd you coming". and God asked who tolled you and Adam said it was Eve, and Eve said it was the serpent. And God cursed the serpent and Adam and Eve. And after telling each of them there curse, he sent Adam and Eve from the garden and were never to return."

But while doing all of these challenges he keeps two things in mind when doing these challenges and these are Jesus and Family. And also they are also learning how to use different weapons, vehicles and machines. And this is just the begining of his journey. And still durring the hard times he thinks about God and his family. He only has 5 more months left of training until his first real mission. He now has to push himself to the finish line and finish his training.

Fahrenheit 451 Post
I have started to read this book with my class and have already read 72 pages of it. Already im sort of confused with what is going on in the book. I have a little bit of what has happened so far. So in Fahrenheit 451 so far in the book a man named Montag has a job as a fireman, but there is a catch, he doesnt stop fires from spreading and putting them out, he starts them. Also in this sosciety in the future it is illegal to read or even posses a book, so it's Montag's job as a fireman to burn books and the building they were kept in. One evening as he was going down his normal route, with jet cars flying past him he turns a corner to find a teenage girl. This girl is unique in the book she changes the way Montag looks at the books and the government. Her name is Clarrise McClellan, she isnt like other kids and go to school and do what the government says to do, she does what she wants to do. So after meeting her Montag walks inside his house to find his wife Mildred on thier bed with an empty pill container next to her.
So Montag does what anyone eles would have done and called the hospital. After an hour of pumping her stumach and her blood and giving her new blood the doctors leave. The next day Mildred wakes up and doesnt know what had happened that night. After a long explanation of what had happened Montag left for work. While at work they get a call and in five minutes they are off to destroy some books. But when they get there after soaking everything in carocine the lady that lived there would'nt leave and so the fireman chief started to count down from ten. But instead of leaving the lady took out a match from her pocket and stroke it, in five seconds the house was burning. But while they were inside Montag sliped a book under his arm and got in the truck. When Montag got home he slipped it under his pillow.
